We offer Activated carbon Fabrics in two forms: cloth, and non-woven. Both kind of presentations are offered in two product gamma:

  • Standard gamma
  • Special gamma

It will be served in rolls with 90 cm width

Our products are soft, flexible and they do not disintegrate. We offer you in three different trusses, with different weight, flexibility and tensile strength. All the fabrics are prepared with the same adsorbent properties (in weight):

  • Carbongen T-S: The lighter, more flexible and lower tensile strength shows. It has also the lowest pressure dropt and highest permeability.
  • Carbongen T-P: With averaged properties.
  • Carbongen T-D: The heaviest and rigid. It shows the highest adsorption properties in each square meter, but also de highest pressure dropt and lowest permeability.

  • Carbongen-T-10: Suitable for protective cloth, military an civilian. It has good mechanical properties with the adsorption properties necessary for protection against chemical and biological agents. Its also suitable as filter from air and gas systems.
  • Carbongen-T-15: Specially suitable for adsorbs fatty organic compounds. Recommended for use in surgical dressing designed for bad-odour wounds and all the other applications that the mechanical properties are not a goal.

Activated carbon felts are, due to their shape, recommended in use as filter in both gas and liquid media. They showed higher pressure drop under flow than cloths, but their highly uniform distribution guarantee better contact with the filtered media.

  • Carbongen-F-11: Suitable for air cleaning systems. Main contaminants present in air, like inorganic gases (SOx, NOx, etc) and organic compounds (VOC, Volatile Organic Compounds) are light molecules, that are strongly adsorbed on narrow pores.
  • Carbongen-F-15: Suitable for liquid filtration systems. In water (and/or liquid media in general), although small molecules, there are also fatty organic compounds. For this kind of compounds adsorption, pores required must be larger, and in this material they are the 50% of the total pore volume.

These products will be available soon (cloths and felts). These are not stocked and it will only available under request

  • Highly mesoporous Carbongen-MS (more than 80% of pore volume with pore diameter higher than 20 Å).
  • Highly microporous Carbongen-MX (up to 2000 m2/g specific surface area).

Surface chemistry of the material plays also an important role in the adsorption phenomena. In this way, we offer all our products in three different finishing, for different applications:
Hydrophobic: It is the original surface affinity and this finishing is free charge. It is suitable for organic and non-polar molecular adsorption.
Hydrophilic: Suitable for adsorption of polar compounds or when it has to be adhered with other.
Silver (not available for T-10 and F-11 products): This special finishing are designed to adsorbs and kill bacteria and fungi, and of course, all the compounds mentioned before. See TEM (Trasmission Electron Microscopy) pictures of Ag impregnated in our fibres.

All our products can also be impregnated with the costumer desired solution. All the requested impregnations must be studied before.
